Neal Land & Neighborhoods and North River Ranch Team Up With Local Area Charities This Holiday Season
A Time for Giving.
Across the country and around the world, the upcoming season always renews the spirit of giving back to our communities and those who are less fortunate. But during these unprecedented times, an even brighter spirit is nourishing more people than ever before. Along with the entire Neal Land & Neighborhoods family, North River Ranch is glad to do our part.
This year, we’re partnering with two of the area’s most dedicated charities – Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee (MOWP) and Step Up Suncoast – to make a lasting difference in the community we call home.
At Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee, the mission is to assist individuals to live independently by providing nutrition and caring, supportive services. The “PLUS” is because they are so much more than meals! From home-delivered meals to over 850 seniors and disabled persons every week, to The Food Bank of Manatee (the largest hunger-relief organization based in Manatee County), to Daybreak Adult Day Center, and more, MOWP works tirelessly to feed and improve the lives of elderly and disabled residents throughout Manatee County.
Paying it forward with MOWP, North River Ranch will provide two or more days of meals to 15 families each quarter throughout 2021. Earlier this year, Neal Land & Neighborhoods also made a $10,000 donation to MOWP to help address the increased need for meals amid COVID-19. “We found it impossible to sit back while members of the community were really struggling,” says John A. Neal, President of Neal Land & Neighborhoods.
It’s a true honor to be able to support the great work of this organization, especially during these times. And since hunger is an enduring challenge, we are committed to support Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee for the foreseeable future.
Another tremendous outreach opportunity is with Step Up Suncoast. Step Up Suncoast, empowers individuals and families to achieve long-term economic stability through education, support services and community partnerships.
Incorporated in 1968, Step Up Suncoast provides services to over 12,000 individuals annually across five counties. With a budget of just over $18 million, their work allows them to assist low-income families with both crisis services and various programs centered around early childhood development. Their mission is focused on holistic programs to break the multigenerational cycle of poverty.
As Step Up Suncoast works to reopen its preschool classrooms, they are seeking corporate sponsors to help cover the costs of the health and safety supply expenses it takes to comply with the CDC guidelines. Gifts not only help with the daily deep cleanings and disinfecting expenses but also provide equipment like gloves, masks and face shields for teachers and students. Other expenses revolve around the changes in Step Up Suncoast’s food service programs.
North River Ranch is proud to commit to Step Up Suncoast’s Founding 50, as the organization celebrates 50 years of inspiring hope. To kick off this new relationship, we have pledged to donate $5,000 over the next five years toward supporting the Step Up Suncoast programs. When it comes to helping make transitions for kids, we can’t think of a more worthwhile endeavor than assisting the great people at Step Up Suncoast.
