The beaches in Florida are one of a kind! That’s just one of the reasons why we love it here. There are some fantastic spots only a short drive from North River Ranch to enjoy soothing breezes, beautiful coastal views, refreshing waters, and unsurpassed Florida sunsets. Life doesn’t get much better than this! Here are some of our favorite local beaches. Which one is your favorite?
ANNA MARIA ISLAND BEACHES
This beautiful island has a ton of incredible beaches to enjoy. Manatee Public Beach, and Holmes Beach, have everything you could ever want in a beach: changing cabanas, grills, picnic tables, volleyball, showers with foot wash, and lots more. Historic Bean Point is a peaceful and pristine beach spot to relax, soak up the sun, and watch the local birds. It’s a little bit of a hike to get there but, it’s worth it. Coquina Beach is located on the southern side of the island and is yet another everything beach with lots of convenient features as well as incredibly scenic views. Bradenton Beach has the charming small-town feel for such an expansive beach. It’s near boutiques and lots of delicious dining as well. Located on the southwest side of Ana Maria Island, Cortez Beach is a peaceful beach surrounded by native grasses and gentle sand dunes. It’s a postcard come to life.
LIDO KEY BEACH
This beach is an all-around favorite for visitors and locals alike. At Lido Key, enjoy views of the water and the downtown Sarasota skyline. The atmosphere is smaller and more private to ensure a very serene experience. There are plenty of restaurants, stylish boutiques, and resorts to discover there as well. Lido Key Beach has the key to our hearts.
SIESTA KEY BEACH
The great reviews continue! Siesta Key Beach was named #1 in the U.S. and #11 in the world in the 2020 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice™ awards. Walking on the sand here is like “walking on a cloud.” There’s plenty of parking at this large beach, volleyball nets, and kid’s playgrounds so it makes it easy for families. There are also shops and dining here, perfect for romantic afternoons or date nights.
Just a quick jaunt over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge into Pinellas County and you’ll find more of the area’s best beaches.
FORT DESOTO PARK BEACH
Looking for a beach to rave about? How about one with rave reviews?! Fort DeSoto Park Beach is one of the best family beaches in the United States. Parents Magazine named it as one of the 10 Best Beaches for Families. Unique to this beach are a canoe trail, nature trail, dog park, ferry service, two fishing piers, 7 miles of waterfront, lifeguards, and lots more. Take time to explore the Historic Fort, too!
PETE BEACH
A popular destination for locals and visitors alike, St. Pete Beach is a beautiful combination of natural splendor, historic architecture, and acclaimed museums. There’s a casual yet cosmopolitan feeling here that’s quite alluring. It’s the perfect place to make a day of it.
